Moniepoint is recruiting a Financial Planning Analyst for its Nairobi office. This is a full-time position supporting the Group’s financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions across multiple business entities. The Financial Planning Analyst at Moniepoint will work closely with the Head of Group FP&A to maintain consolidation models, deliver forecasting and budgeting support, and provide financial analysis to subsidiary teams that lack dedicated in-house capacity.
In the fintech and payments sector, accurate financial planning and timely reporting are essential to stakeholder confidence and operational decision-making. As a Financial Planning Analyst at Moniepoint, you’ll be responsible for keeping group-level numbers clean, reconciling actuals to forecasts, and ensuring that subsidiaries receive consistent, on-time financial support. This role suits candidates with 4–6 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or corporate finance roles who can work independently with subsidiary stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Group consolidation model on a monthly basis, reconciling actual results to forecast and identifying material variances
- Deliver forecasting, budgeting, and management-reporting assistance to subsidiary entities that do not have their own dedicated FP&A staff
- Compile Board and management reporting packs according to standard formats and fixed monthly or quarterly schedules
- Support the annual budget cycle, including template design, data collection from business units, model consolidation, and variance narrative commentary
- Conduct variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and prior forecasts, then document the reasoning behind significant deviations
- Track key performance indicators and unit economics across the group of entities within scope
- Address ad hoc analysis requests from the CFO, Head of Group FP&A, and subsidiary leadership teams
Requirements & Qualifications
- 4–6 years of professional experience in financial planning and analysis, financial analysis, or corporate finance roles
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling
- Hands-on experience working with multi-entity or multi-currency financial data
- Part-qualified or fully qualified professional accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) or equivalent analytical background
- Prior experience in banking, fintech, or a regulated industry environment (preferred)
- Demonstrated exposure to Board-level reporting and presentation standards (preferred)
- Ability to work independently with subsidiary or business unit stakeholders with minimal day-to-day supervision (preferred)
What to Expect
- You will be the primary FP&A contact for assigned subsidiaries and are expected to identify issues and solve them without waiting for detailed instruction. Ownership of data integrity and timeliness is essential.
- The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when explaining variances and financial trends to non-finance stakeholders across the group.
- You will deliver monthly and quarterly reporting on fixed schedules; the ability to work within strict deadlines without requiring ongoing follow-up is a core expectation of this position.
