About the Role
Farsight Africa Group, a Pan-African communications company established in 2010, is recruiting a Finance Officer to join its Nairobi office on a full-time basis. This role supports the organisation’s financial and administrative operations across a lean team structure. The Finance Officer at Farsight Africa Group will handle bookkeeping, expense tracking, compliance documentation, and day-to-day administrative coordination — working hands-on with finance records, payments, and office management functions.
The successful candidate will operate across both finance and administration, ensuring that internal records, statutory documentation, payment schedules, and office operations remain organised and current. This is a practical role suited to someone who can manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining accuracy in financial record-keeping and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of payments, invoices, receipts, petty cash, and project expenses; support monthly financial summaries for management.
- Process payment requests, verify supporting documentation, and coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as required.
- Assist with payroll documentation, staff and consultant payment schedules, and ensure timely processing of statutory obligations including PAYE, NHIF/SHIF, NSSF, and VAT records.
- Perform basic bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and filing of financial documents; organise and maintain office records and shared folders.
- Support procurement documentation, track quotations, LPOs, and supplier payments; maintain vendor and consultant records.
- Compile and file documents required for tax, audit, and compliance purposes; flag missing documentation or delayed payments to management promptly.
- Prepare monthly administrative and finance updates, payment trackers, and provide timely reports on outstanding invoices and compliance needs.
- Coordinate office administration including meetings, travel logistics, office supplies, and HR-related administration such as onboarding and leave records.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in administration, finance support, bookkeeping, or office management.
- CPA qualification (Part 2 or above) or equivalent accounting training is advantageous; practical knowledge of basic accounting, filing, and reconciliations is essential.
- Experience in consulting, NGO, development, or project-based environments is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Drive, and familiarity with basic accounting or finance tools.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication, follow-up abilities, and a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
What to Expect
- A role that combines finance support and office administration within a collaborative, lean team.
