About the Role

Cascade Institute of Hospitality is recruiting an Accounts Intern to join its finance team in Nairobi on a freelance basis. The Accounts Intern at Cascade Institute of Hospitality will support core accounting functions including invoice processing, financial reconciliations, and records management. You will work under the supervision of the finance department, gaining hands-on experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and budget monitoring. Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers with accuracy and timeliness.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and assist with account reconciliations.
• Maintain accounting records and organize filing systems to ensure documents are accessible and properly stored.
• Assist in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including tracking outstanding balances.
• Monitor budget allocations and organize procurement documentation as requested.
• Perform financial data entry and conduct basic analysis to support reporting requirements.
• Complete additional finance-related tasks assigned by the accounting supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline.
• Recent graduate or currently enrolled student eligible to undertake internship placement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software packages.
• CPA Part II qualification or equivalent professional certification is advantageous.
• Demonstrated accuracy, integrity, and strong attention to detail in financial work.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Organized approach to managing multiple accounting tasks concurrently.
