About the Role

BasiGo is recruiting a Charging Station Attendant for a full-time position in Kenya. This role is central to the operation of BasiGo’s electric bus fleet, ensuring that vehicles are charged safely and efficiently while maintaining strict adherence to operational standards. The Charging Station Attendant will work across shifts, including evenings and weekends, to support the company’s commitment to electric transport in Kenya.

As a Charging Station Attendant at BasiGo, you will be responsible for the daily charging operations of electric buses, conducting vehicle inspections, and reporting maintenance needs. This is a hands-on position suited to someone with technical knowledge and a commitment to safety and accuracy. Key Responsibilities

• Charge electric buses in compliance with BasiGo charging guidelines, technical requirements, and company procedures.
• Conduct interior and exterior inspections of electric buses following all BasiGo Standard Operating Procedures.
• Inspect bus lighting systems, vehicle safety equipment, horns, windshield wipers, mirrors, and electrical components for functionality and damage.
• Document defects, equipment failures, and maintenance concerns identified during inspections or reported by drivers and conductors.
• Communicate maintenance and repair needs to the Vehicle Service and Customer Experience teams, including issues affecting charging infrastructure and BasiGo assets.
• Maintain accurate records of bus check-in and check-out procedures, parts usage, repairs, and maintenance work on company documentation forms.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area that meets all OSHA standards and BasiGo safety requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• Valid driving licence is preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on operational needs.
• Basic computer knowledge and competency with company management systems and record-keeping software.
• Fluent in spoken English and Kiswahili.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team and liaise with drivers, conductors, and maintenance staff.
• Physical fitness and capability to perform demanding manual work, including lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, and working at heights from ladders.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks accurately and on schedule.
