I&M Bank is recruiting a Senior Associate, Compliance Officer to join its Virtual Relationship Management (VRM) division. The Senior Associate, Compliance Officer at I&M Bank will work across multiple banking products—accounts, loans, and cards—ensuring all customer instructions are processed accurately, on time, and in line with internal controls and regulatory requirements. This is a strategic management role requiring the holder to identify and execute operational improvements, establish performance metrics, and monitor outcomes to deliver measurable benefits across efficiency, customer experience, and digital uptake.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet established accuracy targets for all new and existing customer applications, including accounts, loans, cards, and mandate changes.
- Execute timely KYC callbacks on customer documentation in line with current turnaround times and service standards.
- Conduct regular training and coaching sessions with VRM and branch teams to build expertise in customer experience, operational rigor, KYC protocols, compliance requirements, and product knowledge.
- Manage the full application lifecycle for loan approvals and credit card issuance, including processing, authorization, and tracking to meet set turnaround time targets.
- Partner with the VRM Manager to identify and execute sales growth initiatives, including customer reactivation programs and account funding strategies.
- Report, investigate, and resolve all risk events and control failures, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Monitor customer instructions end-to-end, resolve complaints and queries according to established procedures, and ensure all requests are actioned within service level agreements.
- Identify recurring customer issues, collaborate with VRM, product, and credit teams to develop solutions, and deliver reports on daily and monthly workflows plus return-to-service metrics.
Requirements & Qualifications
- University degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; postgraduate education in compliance and risk management is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in banking operations, with direct involvement in controls and compliance functions.
- Demonstrated ability to use analytics and technology solutions to identify and manage compliance risks.
- Strong critical thinking skills to analyze complex operational and regulatory problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
- Proven capacity to build relationships, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and influence business outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a track record of delivering accurate, timely results in compliance-heavy environments.
