Relationship Officer- Pamoja Banking at Equity Bank Kenya – Equity Bank Kenya Kenya Job Details

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Relationship Manager Business, the Relationship Officer- Pamoja Banking manages and coordinates all assigned groups to ensure the bank’s goals and objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Outreach: Hold consultative meetings with stakeholders (Chiefs, market opinion leaders) to arrange meetings with potential clients; prepare keynote messages for forums to promote Pamoja banking value proposition; manage inquiries on Pamoja banking at branch and marketplace level.
  • Group Onboarding and Training: Identify and select qualifying groups from the market; support groups in registering with government offices and obtaining KYC documents; set up group structures and maintain records; conduct pre-registration and post-registration training for groups and members.
  • Deposit Mobilization and Documentation: Enforce weekly savings contributions; ensure proper documentation at group level including treasurer’s ledger, group minutes, and passbooks; mobilize deposits through weekly collections.
  • Loan Processing and Compliance: Conduct business and home visits to verify borrowers’ ability to pay; compile credit proposals for Branch Credit Committee discussion; onboard groups in IGLS system and generate reports; ensure compliance with credit policies and train branch staff on product amendments.
  • Portfolio and Relationship Management: Manage loan book quality through post-disbursement visits; enforce weekly collection of savings and loan payments; establish group structures and enforce the five pillars of stable groups; ensure timely loan approval and disbursement.
  • Customer Recruitment and Segment Growth: Recruit new-to-bank customers and actualize segment partnership objectives to align with sector growth objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Business-Related Course, Education, Social Sciences, or Diploma in business-related course
  • Overall C+ in KCSE and C+ in mathematics
  • 2-3 years’ experience
  • Sales experience (added advantage)
  • Micro finance industry experience (added advantage)
  • Project management and monitoring/evaluation experience (added advantage)
  • Computer literacy with high proficiency in Microsoft suite
