About UAF-Africa
Urgent Action Fund-Africa (UAF-Africa) is a feminist and women’s human rights pan-African fund registered in Kenya and Zimbabwe. It operates as a virtual organisation with presence across East, Southern, and Central Africa.
The organisation uses a rapid response grant-making model to support urgent and innovative initiatives promoting women’s rights in areas such as democratic governance, economic justice, environmental and climate justice, and conflict transformation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support information synthesis to identify trends across key programmatic areas
- Assist in documenting programme learnings, outcomes, and successes
- Support systems used to monitor and track programme delivery and compliance
- Contribute to the development of programme briefs, reports, and documentation
- Assist in coordinating programme calendars, timelines, and milestones
- Support scheduling and coordination of internal and external programme meetings
- Document discussions and follow-ups from programme meetings
- Provide logistical support for programme-related events and activities
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Women’s Studies, Political Science, International Development, Law, or related field
Skills and Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in project coordination or administrative support
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an added advantage)
- Understanding of gender equality and women’s rights issues in Africa is desirable
- Ability to manage detailed tasks accurately and efficiently
- Strong project coordination skills including timeline and milestone management
- Ability to work collaboratively within teams
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Experience working in a virtual/remote environment is an added advantage
