About the Role

The Institute for Peace & Diplomacy is recruiting a Research Assistant for a part-time internship in Kenya. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct background research on international affairs topics and geopolitical developments
• Support the writing and development of analytical publications and policy briefs
• Assist in research methodology design for reports addressing global security and diplomatic issues
• Contribute to the preparation and organisation of expert discussions and policy events
• Support internal communications and programme coordination activities
• Help prepare and format content for policy outputs and research publications
• Work on thematic areas including Indo-Pacific relations and global power system dynamics

Requirements & Qualifications

• Background in international relations, political science, or a related academic discipline
• Strong research and analytical writing skills with ability to synthesise complex information
• Demonstrated interest in diplomacy, global governance, and foreign policy analysis
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision
• Strong organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Capacity to commit 30 hours per week during the nine-week internship period
• Sound academic record demonstrating analytical capability
