About the Role

Global Artivism is recruiting an Operations Fellow for a full-time, 12-month independent contractor position beginning in August 2026. This is a remote role open to candidates worldwide, with particular focus on applicants based in Global South countries. The Operations Fellow at Global Artivism – Remote Global Job 2026 will work within the organization’s governance and operations team to build systems and processes that enable a distributed, arts-driven social justice movement to function effectively across borders and time zones.

Global Artivism is a Global Majority-led movement that harnesses arts, culture, and activism to advance social justice, ecological sustainability, and collective liberation. The organization connects artists, cultural workers, and activists across regions to develop the infrastructure, relationships, and resources required for sustained social change. NGO jobs in Kenya and across the Global South are central to this mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document operational frameworks that align with Global Artivism’s strategic direction and values.
  • Develop staffing models, organizational structures, and resource allocation frameworks for movement operations.
  • Create onboarding processes and operational guidance materials for new and existing movement members.
  • Produce internal documentation, toolkits, checklists, and decision-support materials that standardize operations across teams.
  • Build and maintain knowledge systems that ensure operational work remains transparent, accessible, and transferable across the organization.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend practical, implementable improvements.
  • Conduct research on organizational models and operational structures relevant to Global Artivism’s distributed, movement-based approach.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Operations Director, Governance Lead, Project Manager, Admin Coordinator, and Movement Secretariat to ensure alignment and continuity.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet established deadlines.
  • Strong written communication skills in English.
  • Competency with digital collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, or equivalent platforms.
  • Genuine interest in operations, organizational systems design, or movement infrastructure development.
  • Capacity to work independently as a contractor and self-manage a flexible schedule across time zones.
  • Alignment with and commitment to Global Artivism’s mission, values, and guiding principles.
  • Background or formal study in business administration, project management, finance, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Experience working with NGOs, civil society organizations, community groups, or grassroots movements (preferred).

What to Expect

  • Monthly contractor payment of USD 1,000 to USD 1,500, invoiced and processed monthly. As an independent contractor, you will manage your own tax obligations, insurance, local registration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Fully remote work with flexibility in scheduling, though regular participation in team meetings across multiple time zones is required.
