  • File inpatient paperwork and clinical reports using a systematic approach that preserves document integrity and accessibility.
  • Digitize paper records and manage electronic storage protocols to reduce physical file volume and improve retrieval times.
  • Safeguard all patient information in accordance with Kenya Data Privacy requirements, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Transfer patient data into the facility’s main database with precision, supporting overall operational efficiency in the records department.
  • Issue printed medical record copies to patients as permitted by institutional policies and patient requests.
  • Become proficient in SHA claim form procedures and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure claim submissions meet all payer requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Records Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Kenyan institution.
  • Professional certification or specialized training in health records administration or related field.
  • Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) knowledge or certification.
  • Current professional membership with the Association of Medical Records Officers Kenya (AMRO-K) or active status toward membership.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in health records management, medical documentation, or a closely aligned role.
  • Demonstrated competency in hospital information management systems (HMIS) and electronic record-keeping.
