Human Resource Assistant at Nairobi Hospital – Nairobi Hospital Kenya Job Details

Position: Human Resource Assistant (Ref: TNH/HHR/HRA/07/2026)

Purpose: Provide administrative support to the human resources function to facilitate achievement of departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support implementation of HR initiatives within assigned business units in line with departmental objectives and HR Business Partner guidance
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle processes including recruitment administration, onboarding, transfers, confirmations, and separation documentation
  • Schedule interviews, prepare employment documentation, and maintain recruitment and onboarding trackers
  • Maintain accurate employee records, organization charts, and staff movement data within HR information systems
  • Provide first-level support to employees and line managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment queries
  • Support administration of employee relations processes including disciplinary, grievance, and absenteeism cases
  • Monitor timelines for probation reviews, contract renewals, leave balances, and performance activities
  • Assist in coordinating performance management processes by issuing templates, tracking submissions, and compiling reports
  • Support coordination of learning and development activities including training logistics and attendance tracking
  • Prepare routine HR reports including headcount, turnover, leave utilization, and employee movement data
  • Support payroll processing by preparing and validating monthly HR inputs
  • Maintain trackers for professional licenses, certifications, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure employee documentation complies with labour laws, internal policies, and Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Coordinate end-to-end source verification and background check processes
  • Handle sensitive documentation with professionalism and discretion

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration or related business field from a recognized institution
  • Active registered membership with the Institute of Human Resources Management (IHRM)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy Human Resources Department
