About the Role

Emerge Egress Consulting is recruiting two Hostess positions for a leading hotel in Nairobi. This is a full-time role where you will serve as the primary point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their entire dining experience. Key Responsibilities

• Greet arriving guests with warmth and professionalism, then guide them to their assigned seating
• Manage table allocation and seating layouts to maintain smooth guest flow throughout service
• Take note of any seating preferences or special requests guests communicate and accommodate them where possible
• Process reservations and manage walk-in arrivals, particularly during busy periods
• Keep the entrance, reception area, and surrounding spaces clean and well-maintained, including doors and windows
• Communicate seating plans and guest requirements clearly to restaurant service and kitchen staff
• Answer incoming phone calls, record reservation requests, and support takeout order coordination as needed
• Monitor table status and readiness to support efficient service flow and table turnover
• Maintain a friendly and approachable presence at the restaurant entrance throughout your shift
• Thank departing guests courteously and encourage them to return on future occasions

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Food and Beverage, Hospitality, or a related field
• Minimum two years of prior experience in hospitality or restaurant service roles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication abilities
• Strong customer service orientation with a genuine interest in guest satisfaction
• Professional appearance and a consistently positive attitude
• Ability to stay organized and composed while managing multiple tasks during peak service
• Attention to detail and a team-oriented approach to work
