Job Specification

Role Purpose

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the Accounting Officer of the Company and provides overall strategic, operational, and leadership direction. The role is responsible for driving the Company’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives, ensuring sound corporate governance, financial sustainability, operational excellence, and positive stakeholder relations within the Real Estate sector.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Corporate Governance
    • Provide coherent leadership to the Company by defining, communicating, and executing the vision, mission, and strategic intent.
    • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of the Company’s strategic and annual work plans in liaison with the Board.
    • Ensure effective communication and alignment between Management, the Board, shareholders, and other key stakeholders.
    • Coordinate the preparation of business proposals, management reports, and policy papers for Board consideration and implement Board resolutions.
    • Foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, integrity, accountability, and good governance in line with the Constitution of Kenya.
  • Business Development & Industry Leadership
    • Champion innovation in product development and service delivery to enhance competitiveness and market relevance.
    • Ensure continuous improvement in the quality, value, and relevance of the Company’s products and services.
    • Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships within the Real Estate sector.
    • Keep abreast of developments, trends, and best practices in the Real Estate industry and translate them into business opportunities.
    • Represent the Company at industry associations and professional forums such as the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK), Estate Agency (EA), Property Managers (PM), and other relevant bodies.
  • Policy, Regulatory & External Relations
    • Provide leadership and technical input in the development of relevant national policies and legislation affecting the Real Estate sector.
    • Ensure full compliance with the Constitution, Acts of Parliament, statutory requirements, and applicable local and international regulations.
    • Act as the principal spokesperson of the Company and build a strong, positive corporate image.
    • Authorize and execute legal documents and contracts, and liaise with clients, suppliers, regulators, and partners to ensure mutual obligations are met.
  • Financial Management & Performance Oversight
    • Ensure achievement of the Company’s financial and operational goals and objectives.
    • Develop and recommend the Company’s annual operating budgets to the Board for approval.
    • Monitor, control, and report on organizational performance and financial results against approved budgets and strategic targets.
    • Ensure prudent financial management, sustainability, and value creation for shareholders and stakeholders.
  • Operations & Asset Management
    • Provide overall direction for the day-to-day management and operations of the Company.
    • Exercise oversight and control over all personnel, systems, processes, and operational activities.
    • Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, protection, and efficient utilization of the Company’s physical and financial assets.
    • Ensure effective systems, procedures, standards, and internal controls are in place to support efficient operations.
  • Human Capital Management & Organizational Culture
    • Ensure staff are effectively deployed, adequately trained, and supported to perform their duties ethically and efficiently.
    • Provide leadership in performance management, talent development, succession planning, and staff capacity building.
    • Maintain a conducive work environment that attracts, motivates, and retains high-performing employees.
    • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, high performance, and good corporate citizenship.
