About the Role

Amentum is recruiting a full-time Bartender in Kenya to manage bar operations and deliver quality service at its Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) facilities. The Bartender at Amentum will work under general supervision, coordinating all activities needed to run the bar smoothly while maintaining strict safety and compliance standards. This is a hands-on position in the hotel and hospitality sector, requiring strong customer service skills and a thorough understanding of beverage service regulations.

The role offers consistent full-time employment for candidates who meet Kenya’s legal drinking age and possess practical experience in bar operations. Key Responsibilities

• Pour and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons, including beer, wine, and mixed drinks prepared to establishment recipes
• Mix cocktails and other drinks following standardized recipes and techniques specific to the bar’s operations
• Prepare drink garnishes and maintain presentation standards for all beverages served
• Operate the point of sale system and cash register to ring up sales and process payments for drinks and food items
• Describe menu offerings and serve food items to customers as requested
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain all bar tools, glassware, utensils, and equipment according to health and safety protocols
• Monitor patron alcohol consumption, refuse service when necessary, and manage situations involving intoxicated customers according to established procedures
• Ensure compliance with state laws and identification requirements before serving alcoholic beverages to any patron

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must meet the minimum legal age (21 years) to serve alcoholic beverages in Kenya
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Minimum two years of experience in bar operations, beverage service, or hospitality sector coordination
• Working knowledge of bar terminology, drink mixing techniques, and standard service procedures
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods during shifts and work in a fast-paced service environment
• Understanding of alcohol safety practices and responsibility toward patron welfare
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred
• Knowledge of basic health and fitness concepts, and familiarity with sanitation and preventative health procedures
