About the Role

Accor is recruiting a Bartender for a full-time position in Kenya. This role sits at the heart of the hotel’s beverage service operation, where you’ll craft and serve drinks to guests while managing inventory, cashiering, and bar operations. Key Responsibilities

• Mix and prepare all varieties of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and proper presentation for every guest order.
• Manage daily bar inventory and sales reporting, including inter-transfer reports, breakage and spoilage records, and full bottle sales documentation.
• Organize and maintain bar stock at established par levels, storing wines and spirits under appropriate conditions and arranging requisitioned items correctly.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of the bar area, chillers, fridges, storage areas, floor, and all equipment including glassware and bar tools.
• Handle cashiering responsibilities when assigned, validating guest orders, computing total sales, and turning over daily sales records and reports to the Head Cashier.
• Prepare and stock adequate supplies including napkins, straws, cocktail picks, and other bar essentials, arranging them neatly in assigned areas.
• Set up mise-en-place before service hours and prepare garnishes and mixers to support efficient service during peak periods.
• Conduct monthly inventory of operating equipment and ensure glassware stock levels are maintained and properly organized.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma in Food & Beverage Service, Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 1–3 years’ experience as a bartender or bar attendant in a reputable hotel, restaurant, resort, or lounge.
• Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails, wines, spirits, and bar service standards.
• Proven ability to prepare and mix drinks according to standardized recipes and presentation standards.
• Knowledge of bar inventory management, stock control, and beverage costing procedures.
• Experience with cashiering, POS systems, and daily sales reporting (advantageous).
• Sound understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards within bar operations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure and maintain speed and accuracy during busy service periods.
