About the Role

Maisha Bora Sacco Ltd is recruiting a Branch Manager to lead operations and growth at one of its branch locations in Kenya. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will take full responsibility for branch performance across membership expansion, deposit mobilisation, loan portfolio management, operational efficiency, and member satisfaction. This is a full-time position suited to an experienced banking or SACCO professional ready to drive sustainable business growth and maintain strict compliance standards.

As Branch Manager at Maisha Bora Sacco Ltd, you will oversee all aspects of branch activity, from credit appraisal and risk management to team leadership and stakeholder engagement. The role combines strategic business development with hands-on operational oversight, requiring both financial acumen and people leadership skills to succeed in Administration jobs in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive growth in membership, deposits, and the loan portfolio while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the branch service area.
• Develop and execute branch business strategies aligned with annual and quarterly performance targets, monitoring profitability and revenue-to-cost ratios.
• Oversee loan origination, appraisal, documentation, and approval processes in line with credit policies and lending standards.
• Monitor portfolio quality indicators including payment arrears rates, delinquency trends, and non-performing loans; implement recovery initiatives and escalate high-risk exposures.
• Ensure seamless daily operations, enforce cash handling and control procedures, and maintain compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate branch staff to meet performance targets; conduct reviews, provide mentoring, and foster accountability and customer-focused behaviour.
• Prepare and analyse weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports covering deposits, loans, recoveries, revenues, and new accounts; deliver actionable insights to management.
• Build and maintain relationships with local employers, institutions, businesses, and community groups; represent Maisha Bora Sacco Ltd in branch-level engagements and support marketing initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, Cooperative Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in banking, SACCO operations, or microfinance environments.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or branch management role with direct team leadership experience.
• Proven background in lending, branch operations, and business development with demonstrable success in revenue growth.
• Professional qualifications in banking, credit, finance, or management (preferred).
• Strong business development and sales ability combined with analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Solid understanding of SACCO operations, credit management, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• High levels of integrity, accountability, and professionalism with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
