About the Role

The WASH Officer, P-2 at UNICEF plays a critical role in strengthening water, sanitation, and hygiene programs across Kenya. This full-time position bridges the gap between UNICEF’s country office and international partners, ensuring that vulnerable children and families gain access to essential WASH services. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and organize water and sanitation data from surveys, field assessments, partner reports, and monitoring visits to maintain accurate program records
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive WASH activity databases and dashboards that track grants, village profiles, and implementation progress across all field sites
  • Analyze trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities within WASH program data to support quarterly reviews and annual planning cycles
  • Prepare detailed reports, visualizations, and donor-focused documentation that communicate program achievements and challenges to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with partner organizations, government institutions, and PME teams to ensure timely data collection, quality monitoring, and results-based reporting
  • Build technical capacity of program staff in data management systems, reporting procedures, and quality assurance standards
  • Document and disseminate project success stories, lessons learned, and best practices to government agencies, development partners, and community networks
  • Support KOICA partnership management activities, including liaison coordination between the country office and the Korean development agency

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, development studies, water resources management, environmental science, or a related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in data management, WASH programming, monitoring and evaluation, or humanitarian coordination roles
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analysis tools, database management, spreadsheet applications, and data visualization software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of local Kenyan languages is an advantage
  • Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, or government health/water sectors in Kenya or similar contexts
  • Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple reporting deadlines and stakeholder requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to dynamic, fast-paced program environments
  • Proven commitment to equity, child rights, and community-centered development principles
