• The School Driver shall be responsible for safely transporting learners to and from school, educational trips, and other authorized activities, while upholding the highest standards of safety, punctuality, and professionalism.

Job Description

• Operate school buses or other designated vehicles in a safe and lawful manner in accordance with traffic regulations and school transport policies.
• Ensure the safety of all learners at all times, particularly when boarding and alighting from the vehicle.
• Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
• Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities.
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure the vehicle is adequately fueled.
• Monitor learner behavior during transit to ensure adherence to safety protocols and the maintenance of a respectful and orderly environment.
• Strictly follow established pick-up and drop-off schedules.
• Communicate any delays, route changes, or incidents to school authorities in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of daily trips, mileage, fuel usage, and any incident.
• Submit reports to the relevant school department as required.
• Interact courteously and professionally with learners, parents, school staff, and the general public.

Job Requirements

• Valid driving license class B, C, C1, D1, D2 (van/ Nissan & min Buses category) and renewal Institution Driver licence.
• Minimum KCSE Certificate (or equivalent).
• Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
