About the Role

A Nairobi-based private aviation charter company specializing in helicopter, turboprop, and business jet operations is recruiting a Remote IT & Systems Officer Job (55K) on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on technical role covering all aspects of IT infrastructure, systems administration, and day-to-day technical support. You will manage networks, hardware, software, cloud platforms, and security protocols while working independently to ensure uninterrupted business operations across the organization.

The successful candidate will report directly to management and take ownership of the company’s entire technology environment. This Remote IT & Systems Officer Job (55K) requires someone comfortable working remotely from Kenya with the ability to respond to technical issues outside standard working hours. You’ll balance reactive support with proactive system monitoring, security hardening, and technology implementation to keep the aviation operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and monitoring of all IT systems, networks, hardware, and software across the organization.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and support to staff members, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, routers, and other IT equipment throughout the business.
• Implement and manage data security protocols, system backups, and disaster recovery procedures to protect organizational assets.
• Monitor system performance continuously and recommend hardware or software upgrades to improve efficiency.
• Administer cloud-based systems, email platforms, and communication tools to support team collaboration.
• Liaise with external vendors and service providers to source technical support and resolve complex issues beyond in-house capability.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all systems, processes, IT assets, and configurations for reference and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to organizational IT policies and cybersecurity best practices across all operations.
• Lead the deployment and integration of new technologies and system enhancements as the business evolves.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in IT support, web development, systems management, or equivalent technical roles.
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying at least one live commercial website from inception to production.
• Hands-on working knowledge of CRM platforms, particularly HubSpot or comparable systems.
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs and automation tools to streamline business workflows.
• Competency in web hosting management, domain administration, and Google Workspace setup and maintenance.
• Understanding of data access controls, user permission structures, and role-based security management.
• Ability to manage systems and security independently without reliance on a dedicated technical team.
• Own a reliable laptop, smartphone, and consistent broadband internet connection suitable for remote work.
• Availability to respond to urgent technical matters outside standard business hours when required.

Performance Expectations

• Deploy a fully functional company website and have it live within 10 days of your start date.
• Ensure all automation and notification workflows are operational and thoroughly tested before go-live.
• Maintain 100% system uptime during business hours, with any outages resolved within 2 hours.
• Keep all digital assets updated, secured, and properly maintained on an ongoing basis throughout your tenure.
