Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a 100% pharmacy fill rate by ensuring pharmaceutical products remain available and accessible to the pharmacy operation.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts, reduce overstocking, and minimize product expiry losses.
- Coordinate the procure-to-pay cycle in partnership with the Payables Accountant to ensure timely processing and payment of suppliers.
- Execute procurement policies and practices that deliver cost savings and optimize the use of organizational resources.
- Support the Procurement Manager in strategic sourcing activities, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation discussions.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations, healthcare standards, and organizational policies.
- Work with pharmacy and inventory teams to identify improvements in service delivery and operational processes.
- Participate in supplier prequalification, evaluation, and tendering exercises to identify suitable vendors.
- Track supplier performance and follow up on timely delivery of quality pharmaceutical products.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or Diploma in Procurement and Logistics or a related supply chain discipline.
- Professional qualification in Supply Chain Management (an advantage, not mandatory).
- Minimum 1–2 years of procurement experience in a healthcare or pharmaceutical setting.
- Working knowledge of procurement regulations and healthcare compliance requirements applicable in Kenya.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a structured environment.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team across pharmacy, finance, and procurement functions.
