About the Role

You will work closely with the Head of Department and Line Managers to translate business priorities into people strategy, manage complex employment relations matters, and drive operational HR delivery in a target-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the dedicated people and culture point of contact for your assigned department, providing counsel to the Head of Department and Line Managers on all matters spanning recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and development.
- Lead end-to-end disciplinary and grievance processes, including issuing show cause notices, chairing formal hearings, drafting findings reports, and communicating outcome letters in full compliance with the Employment Act 2007 and company policy.
- Manage complex employee relations matters such as summary dismissals, misconduct investigations, and formal grievances with the capability to defend decisions under legal review.
- Drive the department’s performance management cycle, including goal setting, mid-year check-ins, formal reviews, and performance escalations where required. Coach Line Managers on effective feedback and structured underperformance management.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for assigned roles, from sourcing and screening through to assessments and offer management. Manage structured onboarding to ensure new hires integrate effectively and reach productivity quickly.
- Design and deliver targeted training sessions for Line Managers covering feedback, performance management, recognition, and people leadership practices.
- Coordinate quarterly departmental training and sensitization initiatives with the Learning and Development function. Run engagement surveys and translate findings into departmental action plans.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional people and culture projects, including system requirements, process redesign, policy implementation, and compliance initiatives. Identify and close process gaps with a continuous improvement focus.

- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or a closely related field.
- Minimum 6 years of progressive human resource experience, with at least 2 years in a business partnering or embedded HR role.
- Active membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing. CHRP-K certification is advantageous.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of the Employment Act 2007, Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, and related labour legislation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple HR functions simultaneously, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and learning delivery.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage credibly with departmental leadership and line managers at all levels.
- Demonstrated organizational and project management capability, with experience leading or supporting HR process improvement initiatives.
- Commitment to employee engagement, well-being, and professional development within your assigned department.
