About the Role

Akili Group is recruiting a Part-time Accountant to join its team in Kenya. This is an on-site position based in Kisumu, offering flexible hours to suit candidates seeking part-time accounting work. You will take ownership of core financial operations, reporting directly to management and collaborating with stakeholders to support informed business decisions.

As a Part-time Accountant at Akili Group, you will maintain accurate financial records, oversee reconciliations, and ensure the organization meets all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate financial records for all transactions
• Prepare financial reports and statements in line with accounting standards
• Perform account reconciliations for cash, bank, and subsidiary accounts
• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and payment processing
• Handle accounts receivable activities, including invoice tracking and collection follow-up
• Support payroll administration and ensure timely, accurate salary processing
• Prepare financial forecasts and contribute to annual budgeting exercises
• Work with management and other departments to ensure financial transparency and support operational decision-making

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
• Demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial forecasting
• Strong practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation procedures
• Hands-on experience with accounting software systems and advanced Microsoft Excel competency
• Working knowledge of financial regulations, compliance frameworks, and auditing principles
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is preferred
• Experience with ERP systems or accounting automation tools is an advantage; prior work in nonprofit or community-based organizations is a plus
