About the Role
Vert is recruiting 5 Merchandisers to drive in-store execution for Epic Fruit Snacks across assigned retail outlets in Kenya. This is a full-time position offering a monthly salary between KSh 16,000 and KSh 30,000. The Merchandisers (5) at Vert (16K-30K) role sits at the centre of product availability and brand visibility, ensuring that Epic Fruit Snacks meet customer expectations at shelf level while supporting overall sales performance.
The position combines field execution, inventory oversight, and relationship management. You will visit assigned outlets daily following approved routes, maintain stock discipline, execute merchandising standards, and report market intelligence through the company’s digital platform. Success in this Merchandisers (5) at Vert (16K-30K) role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently across multiple retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit all assigned outlets according to daily route plans, ensuring Epic Fruit Snacks SKUs are consistently stocked, visible, correctly priced, and properly displayed against brand standards.
- Monitor stock levels across all product lines, prevent out-of-stock situations, conduct accurate stock counts, and track expiry dates to maintain product quality and availability.
- Maintain shelf placement according to planograms, ensure products are well-faced and neatly arranged, place point-of-sale materials in approved locations, and keep all displays clean and professional.
- Identify and report on competitor shelf presence, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and visibility tactics to support competitive positioning.
- Apply FIFO (First In, First Out) standards, report stock variances, damaged products, slow-moving inventory, and expiry risks to your supervisor without delay.
- Use the company Sales Force Automation tool for 100% compliance, recording all outlet visits, stock updates, orders, photo documentation, and market observations in real time.
- Build working relationships with store managers and retail staff, resolve outlet-level issues professionally, collect feedback from trade partners and shoppers, and escalate unresolved matters appropriately.
- Submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports; communicate emerging market issues, sales opportunities, and outlet challenges to your Merchandising Supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in merchandising, sales, retail field execution, or FMCG operations.
- Proven experience working in supermarkets, wholesalers, or modern trade retail environments (highly valued).
- Background in snacks, food products, or FMCG sector (preferred but not essential).
- Demonstrated ability to use Sales Force Automation tools, mobile reporting applications, or digital field platforms.
- Strong communication skills, route planning ability, and capacity to execute independently in the field.
- Keen attention to detail, high integrity, discipline, and professionalism in all customer-facing interactions.
- Customer relationship management and problem-solving capability at store level.
