About the Role

Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) is recruiting for an Industrial Attachment position in Nairobi. This freelance internship offers graduates and final-year students practical experience in the water and sanitation sector. The role is based at AWWDA’s headquarters in Nairobi and involves supporting the agency’s core operations in water resource development, infrastructure maintenance, and service delivery.

AWWDA operates as one of nine Water Works Development Agencies under Kenya’s Ministry of Water, Sanitation & Irrigation, established under the Water Act 2016. The agency manages water supply and sewerage systems across its service area, making it a significant player in Kenya’s water infrastructure. An Industrial Attachment at Athi Water Works Development Agency provides direct exposure to government-led water sector projects and management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design, and execution of water supply and sewerage projects under supervisor guidance
  • Assist with site inspections, technical surveys, and documentation of water infrastructure facilities
