ABOUT THE POSITION

This role entails significant responsibilities, including:

• Conducting exceptional English/Literature lessons with a real-world, inquiry-based approach that aligns with the Kenyan curriculum requirements.
• Nurturing positive, professional relationships with students, their families, and colleagues.
• Creating lesson plans and collaborating with the Learning Design Team to revise and enhance lessons as needed.
• Establishing an organized, developmentally appropriate classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Infusing enthusiasm and a love for learning into lessons, fosters students’ excitement for academic excellence.
• Providing necessary accommodations and adjustments to support all students’ growth and achievement, both academically and culturally.
• Ensuring students master content and meet academic standards.
• Incorporating interactive technology to enhance instructional delivery.
• Setting and communicating ambitious goals for students, offering constructive feedback for their internalization.
• Maintaining consistent behavioral rewards or consequences while modeling expected conduct for emulation.
• Meeting the ambitious goals of a rapidly growing organization consistently.
• Serving as a teacher on duty or boarding teacher on duty, contributing to behavior intervention programs.
• Timely recording of students’ academic data and effectively communicating their progress to parents and stakeholders when required.
• Assuming the role of a homeroom teacher when necessary.

YOUR PROFILE

Required skills and qualifications:

• Possession of TSC certification and a relevant Education Degree.
• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience specifically in English/Literature.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Adaptability and openness to change, coupled with the ability to handle uncertainty and complexity effectively.
• Problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues using appropriate solutions.
• Enthusiasm for the organizational culture, demonstrating a willingness to embrace mutual vulnerability and actively seek feedback.
