About the Role

Fresh Life is seeking a Communications & Marketing Specialist to lead strategic communication efforts across the organization. This full-time position is based in Kenya and plays a central role in shaping how Fresh Life is perceived by external stakeholders—including partners, policymakers, funders, and communities—while strengthening internal alignment and culture. As the organization scales across multiple cities, this role ensures that messaging is clear, consistent, and influential across all channels.

The Communications & Marketing Specialist at Fresh Life will translate operational complexity into compelling narratives that drive engagement and action. You will own the organization’s brand voice, manage media relationships, oversee digital platforms, and develop content that builds trust and demonstrates impact. This is a strategic role requiring someone who can balance storytelling excellence with data-driven measurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Fresh Life’s communication strategy across all platforms and target audiences, ensuring consistency in messaging and brand positioning
• Shape and maintain brand voice, messaging frameworks, and storytelling approaches that reflect organizational values and goals
• Create high-quality content for digital, print, and advocacy channels, translating operational work into narratives that resonate with different audiences
• Build and maintain media relationships, identify storytelling opportunities, and support thought leadership through media engagement and opinion pieces
• Oversee digital platforms and campaign management, driving online engagement strategies and monitoring performance across channels
• Lead internal communication initiatives and employee engagement efforts to strengthen organizational culture and cross-functional alignment
• Track communication metrics and performance indicators to assess impact, refine messaging, and continuously improve effectiveness
• Manage editorial standards across all communication outputs and ensure leadership is effectively supported for public engagements

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or related fields
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline
• Proven strong writing and storytelling abilities, with demonstrated skill in adapting content for diverse audiences
• Hands-on experience managing digital platforms and social media strategies
• Ability to track, measure, and analyze communication impact using data and insights to inform strategy
• Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Experience working with media contacts (local or international media outlets preferred)
• Additional skills in photography, video production, or web management are advantageous
