About the Role

KCB Bank Kenya is recruiting a Bancassurance Sales Representative for a full-time position based in Kenya. This role sits at the intersection of retail banking and insurance distribution, where you will be responsible for identifying customer needs and placing both general and life insurance products alongside core banking services. As a Bancassurance Sales Representative at KCB Bank Kenya, you will manage a customer portfolio, handle insurance inquiries and complaints, process claims documentation, and ensure all transactions comply with company policy and regulatory requirements. This is a results-focused role that combines customer service, sales execution, and administrative accuracy in a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet monthly and annual sales targets for both retail banking and general and life insurance products, with performance tracked on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Cross-sell and promote insurance offerings to existing and new customers by identifying their protection needs and recommending appropriate coverage.
• Maintain a customer retention ratio of at least 85% within your assigned portfolio through regular engagement and service quality.
• Handle all customer inquiries and complaints related to insurance products, resolving issues promptly and escalating complex matters to your line manager or head office bancassurance team when necessary.
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of all insurance applications and supporting documents before submission, taking personal accountability for data quality.
• Coordinate insurance claims reporting with the head office bancassurance team, assist customers in gathering required documentation, and ensure claim forms are properly completed before submission.
• Collect premiums in strict accordance with the bank’s credit control policy and maintain records of all transactions.
• Deliver training sessions to branch staff on bancassurance products, features, and selling techniques to build team capability.
• Supply pipeline data and sales forecasts to management as requested and report on your individual performance metrics.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by the Commission of University Education.
• Professional insurance qualification, which must include one of the following: Certificate of Proficiency (COP), Executive Certificate of Proficiency (ECOP), a COP exemption certificate from the College of Insurance, an insurance professional qualification from an approved body, or a Bachelor of Commerce with an Insurance Option from a recognized university.
• Minimum one year of sales experience, preferably in a banking, financial services, or insurance environment.
• Strong working knowledge of general and life insurance products, underwriting principles, and claims processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple customer accounts and maintain accurate records under tight deadlines.
• Master’s degree is advantageous but not required.
