About the Role
Madison Group Limited is recruiting an Accountant for its Finance Department in Nairobi. This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Accountant, where you will support core accounting operations and financial reporting processes. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records for company and fund operations, including trial balance updates, transaction posting, journal entries, and expense and income provisioning.
- Reconcile bank accounts, investment fund ledgers, custody valuations, receivables, payables, and other balance sheet accounts on a regular cycle.
- Manage withholding tax computations, postings, filings, and maintenance of supporting documentation to ensure compliance with tax obligations.
- Prepare client fee notes, track collections, maintain income schedules, and process revenue accounting transactions.
- Coordinate supplier invoice receipt, validate invoicing data, prepare payment instructions, and process online payments while managing petty cash accounts.
- Generate weekly cash position reports and support liquidity planning and treasury management functions.
- Assist with payroll administration activities, including submission of non-statutory employee deductions.
- Participate in departmental improvement projects and contribute to professional development within the finance function.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Completed CPA Kenya examination or hold an equivalent professional accounting qualification from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role (desirable).
- Working proficiency with accounting software packages and demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.
- High degree of numerical accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in financial record-keeping.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Strong organizational capability with aptitude for managing multiple concurrent tasks and meeting set deadlines.
- Solid interpersonal and written communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
