About the Role

AAA Growers is recruiting a full-time Accountant- Accounts Payable to join its finance team in Nairobi. This position sits within the accounts payable function, managing supplier payments, creditor reconciliations, and related financial records. The successful candidate will process and reconcile invoices, maintain creditor records, and ensure compliance with VAT regulations and audit requirements.

You will work with multiple subsidiary companies, handle foreign currency transactions, and support the broader finance operation through detailed record-keeping and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and verify supplier invoices, goods received notes (GRNs), and local purchase orders (LPOs) against supporting documentation.
• Reconcile supplier statements and arrange payment remittances on schedule to maintain vendor relationships.
• Keep creditor records current and accurate, ensuring payments are allocated correctly and on time.
• Manage accounts payable and foreign currency creditor balances for assigned subsidiary operations.
• Process and reconcile petty cash reimbursements submitted by the head office.
• Record VAT transactions accurately and retain supporting documents for audit and compliance verification.
• Handle freight-related transaction entries and maintain corresponding financial documentation.
• Compile monthly creditor reports, payment schedules, and reconciliation statements for management review.
• Contact suppliers and internal teams to address invoice discrepancies, documentation gaps, and outstanding reconciliation items.
• Participate in stock-taking activities and assist internal and external auditors with their reviews.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related field.
• CPA Part II/III, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Proficiency with accounting software platforms and strong Microsoft Excel capability.
• Working knowledge of VAT regulations and eTIMS requirements (advantageous).
• Strong attention to detail and consistent accuracy in numerical work and record-keeping.
• Demonstrated reconciliation and analytical skills applied to financial statements and transactions.
• Solid organizational and time-management capability to meet monthly reporting deadlines.
• Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with suppliers, colleagues, and audit teams.
