About the Role

Moko Home + Living is recruiting an Imports & Procurement Officer to manage all aspects of international sourcing and supply chain logistics. This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, working within the furniture and home living sector. The successful candidate will oversee the complete import cycle, from initial supplier contact through to final goods receipt, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external partners.

The Imports & Procurement Officer at Moko Home + Living will be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships, processing import documentation, and ensuring all shipments comply with Kenyan customs regulations. You will work across multiple departments to support the company’s inventory needs and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end import process, starting with purchase orders and concluding with final delivery to warehouse
• Prepare, complete, and submit import documentation within required timeframes to avoid delays
• Track orders and shipment schedules by liaising directly with international suppliers and freight partners
• Work with freight forwarders, clearing agents, shipping lines, and customs authorities to expedite clearance
• Monitor shipment progress in real-time and address any logistical disruptions or delivery setbacks
• Source new suppliers and request competitive quotations for goods and services
• Negotiate supplier agreements covering pricing, lead times, and payment terms
• Raise and monitor purchase orders to confirm timely delivery and product receipt

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma, or equivalent tertiary qualification
• Demonstrated experience in import operations, customs documentation, or procurement roles
• Working knowledge of Kenyan import regulations and customs procedures
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and suppliers simultaneously
• Competence in negotiation and supplier relationship management
• Proficiency with supply chain management software and Microsoft Office applications
