Key Responsibilities
Dentists at Penda Health will carry out the following duties across all clinic locations:
- Carry out thorough oral health examinations, identify dental pathology, and formulate individualised treatment plans that patients understand and feel confident about
- Execute a variety of clinical procedures aimed at restoring and protecting dental health
- Deliver clear, patient-focused guidance on preventive dental care and oral hygiene practices
- Collaborate with Community Oral Health Officers and other clinical staff members to strengthen service delivery across the clinic team
- Train and support junior dental personnel, including Community Oral Health Officers, to develop their clinical skills
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, regulatory standards, and clinical quality measures
- Participate in community dental outreach activities that bring oral healthcare access to underserved populations
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from an accredited university
- Valid registration and active practising licence with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
- Minimum one year of clinical experience working in a dental practice setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and help anxious or apprehensive patients feel at ease during treatment
- Experience or willingness to mentor junior clinical staff and contribute to their professional development
- Strong commitment to patient safety and ethical dental practice standards
- Flexibility to work part-time hours that align with your other professional commitments
