About the Role
TakaTaka Solutions is recruiting a Welder for its operations in Kiambu. This is a full-time position within the Engineering sector, supporting the company’s waste management and recycling operations. TakaTaka Solutions collects waste and processes it at dedicated facilities, where materials are sorted and recycled at rates among the highest globally. The welder will be essential in fabricating, assembling, and maintaining metal structures and equipment that support this recycling infrastructure.
The Welder at TakaTaka Solutions will work with multiple welding processes and techniques, ensuring all fabricated components and repairs meet strict quality and safety standards. This role offers hands-on technical work in a facility-based environment where precision and adherence to safety protocols are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute MIG, TIG, and stick welding operations to assemble and repair metal structures and components according to project requirements.
- Fabricate metal components and structures that conform to technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Participate in the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment used throughout the recycling facilities.
- Verify that all welding work meets established safety standards and quality benchmarks before completion.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Wear and use all required personal protective equipment during welding operations and facility work.
- Notify supervisors immediately of any identified safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or workplace incidents.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or vocational qualification; a technical certificate or diploma in welding is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working as a welder with proven competency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding methods.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Solid working knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and hand tools used in metal fabrication.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity required for precision welding work.
- Meticulous attention to detail and capability to identify and resolve technical problems during fabrication.
- Capacity to work both independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within team settings.
