About the Role

HF Group is seeking a Team Leader-Merchant Acquisition Agents to lead a sales team focused on merchant acquisition and customer growth across multiple banking product lines. This is a full-time position based in Kenya within the banking sector. The successful candidate will oversee daily sales operations, drive revenue targets, and manage team performance across tills, digital integrations, lending products, and non-financial services.

The Team Leader-Merchant Acquisition Agents at HF Group will be responsible for building and maintaining a high-performing sales unit. You will balance commercial targets with compliance requirements, mentor individual agents, and ensure the team adheres to banking regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and monitor team sales targets across all product lines including tills, digital integrations, lending services, and non-financial offerings, with focus on customer acquisition and retention.
  • Lead merchant mobilization activities, coordinate sales pitches, and execute market activation campaigns to expand the customer base.
  • Develop and refine sales strategies for the team, with emphasis on segment targeting and customer-focused selling approaches.
  • Create and update sales toolkits, client materials, and training resources that reflect different product propositions and market needs.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews with sales staff to track progress against targets and identify improvement areas.
  • Provide individual coaching and training to team members to support sales goal achievement and deepen customer relationships.
  • Manage staffing matters including recruitment, leave scheduling, discipline, and adherence to the staff code of ethics.
  • Implement controls to prevent mis-selling, misrepresentation, and fraud; ensure team compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines, anti-money laundering procedures, and data confidentiality standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales management within the banking industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of banking operations and processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to individuals and groups at all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general IT competency.
  • Attention to detail, analytical ability, and active listening skills; ability to scrutinize information and identify issues.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adapt to changing business requirements and deadlines.
