Britam is recruiting a Software Developer for a full-time position based in Nairobi. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications using .NET Core and DevExpress XAF, working alongside business analysts, project managers, and technical teams to deliver solutions that address real business challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Build and sustain web and desktop applications using .NET Core and DevExpress XAF framework.
• Design user interface layers using DevExpress XAF modules while maintaining consistency with UI/UX standards.
• Connect third-party APIs and external services to expand application capabilities.
• Work with business analysts to gather functional requirements and convert them into technical design specifications.
• Review code submissions from team members, identify performance bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations for scalability.
• Identify, isolate, and fix application defects and runtime issues with minimal delay.
• Apply secure coding standards throughout development to protect data and prevent security vulnerabilities.
• Create database structures, stored procedures, and SQL queries using MS SQL Server or equivalent relational database systems.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives.
• Write and maintain technical documentation for modules, features, and implementation decisions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience building applications with .NET Core and DevExpress XAF.
• Solid command of C#, LINQ, Entity Framework, and the design of RESTful APIs.
• Proven ability to build sophisticated reports and data visualizations using DevExpress Reporting tools.
• Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server including schema design, query optimization, and database administration.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
• Strong analytical and logical problem-solving abilities.
• Clear communication in both written and verbal formats.
• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team structure.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web API, or Blazor frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure platforms including Azure or AWS.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps tooling.
• Exposure to additional DevExpress components such as XtraReports and Dashboard.
• Understanding of modern authentication and authorization standards including OAuth and JWT.
