About the Role

Jonerics Cargo Forwarders Limited is recruiting a Shipping Clerk to join its Mombasa office on a full-time basis. This position sits within the shipping and maritime operations team, where you will manage critical documentation and communications between the company and shipping lines. The role is essential to keeping freight movements on schedule and ensuring accurate record-keeping across all sea freight and cargo forwarding operations.

The company operates across East Africa, handling customs clearance, sea freight, air freight, and inland transportation for clients across the continent. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and track all assigned Bills of Lading (BLs) and submit requests for shipping line invoices without delay
• Process and maintain records of delivery orders received from shipping lines
• Identify and address issues that arise with shipping line communications or documentation
• Record and escalate any incidents or new conditions reported by shipping line contacts
• Input refunded deposit amounts from shipping lines into the system and maintain supporting records
• Submit payment requests for outstanding shipping line invoices to management
• Update shipment status in the system once delivery orders are received from the shipping line
• Maintain organized filing and digital records of all shipping line invoices and deposit refund applications

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Professional Certificate in Shipping, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Prior experience in a shipping support, freight forwarding, or logistics operations role is advantageous
• Working knowledge of Bills of Lading, delivery orders, and standard shipping line documentation
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to use logistics and ERP systems effectively
• Strong numerical and data entry skills with meticulous record-keeping ability
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and careful attention to accuracy in all tasks
