About the Role

Sidian Bank is recruiting Relationship Officers for its Riverside Branch location in Kenya. As a Relationship Officer, you will serve as the primary contact for assigned customers, balancing sales objectives with service excellence to build sustainable revenue streams and client loyalty.

The role requires a professional who can navigate relationship management, credit compliance, and branch operations while contributing to overall branch strategy. You will work directly with the Branch Manager and support team to execute business plans aligned with Sidian Bank’s enterprise objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a personal business plan that supports branch growth objectives, including strategies for new client acquisition and increased wallet share from existing customers.
  • Manage all assigned product lines, taking full responsibility for sales and business development across both asset and liability portfolios to meet income and growth targets.
  • Conduct financial needs analysis for high-net-worth clients and cross-sell relevant banking products including deposits, lending facilities, and transactional services.
  • Build and maintain a focused relationship management system that increases customer engagement, monitors satisfaction metrics (CSAT, NPS, CES), and gathers feedback for service improvements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Bank’s Credit Policy, Central Bank of Kenya guidelines, and Banking Act provisions when underwriting and managing credit exposures.
  • Prepare personal action plans contributing to the overall branch budget and utilise the Bank’s management information systems to track performance, monitor customer satisfaction, and generate statutory reports.
  • Establish relationships with key business influencers and decision-makers in the local area, supporting marketing initiatives and product launches within approved entertainment budgets.
  • Minimise customer attrition by proactively responding to queries and complaints, providing tailored solutions, and maintaining consistent client engagement and branch visits throughout the year.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline (or equivalent professional qualification).
  • Proven experience in banking, customer relationship management, or business development roles within a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of banking products, credit policy, and regulatory requirements (Central Bank of Kenya guidelines, Banking Act, Environmental Social Management policy).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sales targets, monitor portfolio performance, and deliver customer service within banking standards.
  • Competence in using banking management information systems (MIS) for reporting and performance tracking.
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to complete assigned training hours annually.
  • Full compliance with the Bank’s code of conduct, dress code, policies, and procedures.
