About the Role

Caritas Microfinance Bank is recruiting three Relationship Officer – SBE positions based in Nairobi. This is a full-time role designed to serve small business enterprise (SBE) clients across the bank’s lending and deposit products. The successful candidates will manage a portfolio of SBE customers, assess their financing needs, and drive cross-selling of the bank’s financial services.

The microfinance sector in Kenya continues to expand as SMEs seek accessible credit solutions. Relationship Officers at Caritas Microfinance Bank play a direct role in meeting that demand, combining credit assessment with customer relationship management and business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored financial and business solutions to small business enterprise clients, including credit products and liability services
• Review, appraise, and process SBE loan applications in line with bank lending standards
• Maintain the quality and integrity of the SBE lending portfolio through sound credit decisions
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned SBE customers, ensuring regular contact and satisfaction
• Identify and promote additional bank services to existing SBE customers to increase revenue and customer lifetime value
• Prepare financial analysis and business assessments as part of the credit appraisal process
• Monitor outstanding loans and follow up on repayment schedules with customers

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related business discipline
• Minimum three years of banking sector experience
• At least two years of direct experience in business development or relationship management
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with ability to assess financial statements and creditworthiness
• AKIB (Association of Kenya Insurance Brokers) banking certificates or equivalent professional qualifications (advantageous)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple customer accounts and meet sales targets
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build professional relationships
