Job Purpose
Responsible for providing efficient and effective creation, capture, processing, storage, maintenance, retrieval, access, use, appraisal, preservation, and disposal of the Agency data in line with the set data standards by the department to ensure that users get data as and when required and that the data is efficiently utilized.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties / Tasks
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
- Implementing records management manuals;
- Receiving, filing, retrieving and dispatch of mail, records and information;
- Coding and indexing of files as stipulated in the records management and
- Information manuals;
- Updating and storing of the Institute’s records;
- Tracking of files and documents;
- Appraising and updating records for retention and disposal;
- Implementing the records management classification systems;
- Identifying potential risk pertaining to records management.
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
- At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience as Records Management Officer II or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Records Management, Information Science Management or any of the Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
