To be eligible for this grade, a candidate should meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevant Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of service in the position of Reception Assistant CSG 13 or higher is required, or an equivalent role in the Public Service. This prior experience will provide a solid foundation for the responsibilities of this position.
  2. Educational Qualifications: A Certificate in Communications Studies, Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Information Science, Media Studies, Corporate Communications, Social Sciences, or an equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya is essential. This educational background will equip the candidate with the necessary knowledge and skills.
  3. Communication Skills: Proficiency in communication is a vital requirement. Effective communication is key to performing the duties associated with this role.
  4. Independence and Self-Reliance: The candidate should be capable of working with minimal supervision. This characteristic demonstrates self-reliance and the ability to manage tasks independently.
  5. Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills are crucial. The role involves interaction with a diverse range of people, and the ability to establish positive relationships is important.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities associated with this role include:

  1. Visitor Management: Ensuring smooth and secure access for visitors to the Authority’s premises, thereby contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.
  2. Reception Services: Receiving, directing, and ushering visitors to their respective destinations within the Authority’s premises, offering assistance as needed.
  3. Meeting Room Booking: Managing the booking of meeting rooms, ensuring that meetings are scheduled efficiently and that resources are allocated appropriately.
  4. Reception Area Maintenance: Taking care of the inventory and overall maintenance of the reception area to create a positive and professional first impression for all visitors.
