This role sits at the centre of the organisation’s capital and infrastructure project delivery, overseeing planning, execution, and benefits realisation across all phases. The Projects Officer ensures projects meet governance standards, financial controls, quality benchmarks, and completion timelines while managing stakeholder coordination across technical teams, contractors, and the Board.

Key Responsibilities

- Review budget proposals and business cases for all capital and ad hoc projects prior to Board submission, assessing financial viability and alignment with corporate strategy.
- Monitor project phases continuously to confirm milestones, budgets, and quality standards are achieved on schedule and within approved parameters.
- Prepare and validate project specifications, tender documents, procurement contracts, and service agreements to protect corporate interests.
- Coordinate the formal handover of completed deliverables to relevant business units and maintain an organised project knowledge database for institutional learning.
- Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate benefits realisation and document lessons learned for future reference.
- Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, contractors, management, and the Board, supplying regular progress updates and professional advice.
- Oversee building maintenance technicians, construction teams, and contractors across the corporation’s properties, and process related documentation including feasibility studies, payment certificates, and audit reports.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution; a Master’s Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Professional certification in Project Management such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 Practitioner; Change Management certification is advantageous.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience in project management, ideally within construction, real estate, or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency with project management software and tools.
- Proven experience in quality assurance and contract management will strengthen your application.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya regarding leadership and integrity standards.
