About the Role
World Vision Kenya is recruiting a Programme Officer – School Meals to join its team in Kenya on a full-time basis. This is a core support role within the Global School Meals Programme, working closely with the Technical Director to oversee coordination, implementation, monitoring, and resource mobilization across all school meals initiatives. The position sits at the intersection of programme management and knowledge systems, ensuring that data flows effectively, stakeholders stay informed, and evidence guides decision-making across field operations.
The Programme Officer – School Meals at World Vision Kenya will be responsible for designing and managing the information infrastructure that underpins the entire school meals portfolio. You will develop monthly dashboards, quarterly reports, and annual publications; manage the online information platform; and coordinate with technical, advocacy, and communications teams to ensure high-quality documentation that supports both internal learning and external advocacy. This role is essential to strengthening programme delivery, diversifying the portfolio, and raising visibility of school meals work across Kenya and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and operationalization of information management systems, reporting frameworks, and documentation processes for the School Meals Programme
- Develop monthly performance dashboards and quarterly progress reports in collaboration with the information management team
- Author and coordinate key publications, case studies, and capacity statements on school meals, working alongside technical, advocacy, and communication colleagues
- Oversee production of the annual school meals report and maintain all associated files and archives
- Administer the School Meals online information management platform to ensure it remains current and accessible
- Organize learning forums and best practices sessions that convene technical leads and field office staff to discuss key themes in school meals implementation
- Track implementation of lessons learned from evaluations and learning forums, following up with field offices on uptake and application
- Support proposal development, donor engagement, and resource mobilization for school meals programming; guide sector offices on use of non-sponsorship funding mechanisms
- Convene and attend internal and external school meals meetings; prepare presentations and maintain action item tracking logs
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in community development, sociology, international studies, political studies, humanitarian law, public health, population studies, or a related field
- Minimum five years of professional experience in programme development, report writing, academic research, or international non-governmental work
- Demonstrated knowledge of the humanitarian sector and international development landscape
- Proven experience working with not-for-profit organizations and public sector entities
- Track record of engaging with multiple public and private donors and developing concepts, proposals, and comprehensive reports
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities; proficiency with computer systems and office productivity software
- Solid planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
