About the Role

Peoplelink Consultants Ltd is seeking an IT Support Specialist for a full-time position based in Nairobi. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure management and business systems support, requiring someone who can manage Oracle ERP platforms, oversee network operations, and drive ICT project implementation across the organisation. The IT Support Specialist at Peoplelink Consultants Ltd will report to senior management and play a key part in ensuring all technology systems run smoothly and securely.

The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking, managing everything from day-to-day system maintenance to enterprise-level technology initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, deploy, and provide technical support for Oracle ERP applications and databases, including end-user training and troubleshooting.
  • Manage the planning, design, and execution of ICT projects covering network infrastructure, security systems, software solutions, hardware rollouts, and custom applications.
  • Maintain continuous operations of central systems and telecommunications infrastructure to minimise downtime and service disruptions.
  • Translate the company’s overall strategy into a working ICT roadmap and ensure all technology investments align with corporate objectives.
  • Establish and enforce security protocols and data integrity measures across all IT systems and equipment.
  • Design, document, and implement comprehensive ICT policies that govern technology use, access, and asset management.
  • Track, allocate, and manage the company’s ICT assets, including licensing, maintenance schedules, and refresh cycles.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Local Area Network infrastructure, including both wired and wireless connectivity and firewall operations.
  • Evaluate IT service providers and vendors, negotiate contracts, manage performance, and oversee procurement of ICT equipment.
  • Provide technical support to senior management on e-tendering platforms and online procurement systems.
  • Deploy and support audio and video teleconferencing systems for internal and external communications.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on technical work experience in IT support or systems administration.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying, configuring, and supporting Oracle ERP systems in production environments.
  • CCNA certification desired; MCSE or equivalent Microsoft networking certification is required.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in IT support, infrastructure management, or related technical roles.
  • Strong knowledge of technical systems management, information architecture, and both hardware and software technologies.
  • Practical expertise in data management, data governance, and database maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing wired and wireless LAN equipment, network switches, and firewall appliances.
