About the Role
A leading distributor of food and beverage ingredients across Kenya is recruiting an IT Administrator Assistant to join its operations team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Managing Director and Senior Business Development Manager, you will be the backbone of daily IT operations—supporting everything from enterprise resource planning systems and inventory platforms to office networks, websites, and end-user devices. Your work will directly impact business continuity, data security, and the smooth functioning of critical business systems across the organization.
The IT Administrator Assistant Job (50K) requires a technically competent professional who can manage first-level user support, maintain IT infrastructure, and coordinate with senior IT staff and external vendors. You will work in a food and beverage ingredients distribution environment where system uptime and operational reliability are essential to warehouse, inventory, and accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver first-level technical support to staff, diagnosing and resolving issues with hardware, software, email systems, printers, and network connectivity.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices across the organization.
- Troubleshoot system performance, connectivity issues, and user access problems; escalate complex cases to the Systems Administrator or external vendors as needed.
- Support business application users with queries on ERP, inventory management, accounting, and warehouse systems; maintain detailed logs of all support requests.
- Assist with server and network maintenance, system backups, data recovery procedures, and disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity.
- Create and manage user accounts, reset passwords, configure access permissions, and coordinate software installations and updates across the network.
- Monitor network uptime, support LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity, and troubleshoot internet and communication system issues.
- Support the maintenance of company websites, social media platforms, and online business systems; maintain IT asset records, licenses, warranties, and technical documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar technical role.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, networking, Windows environments, and systems administration fundamentals.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory management platforms, and business applications used in distribution or warehousing environments.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certifications, or Cisco Certifications are highly valued.
- Experience supporting websites, social media platforms, and online business systems is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, high integrity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
