About the Role
United Winners Sacco is recruiting for an ICT Officer to manage and support the organisation’s technology infrastructure, systems, and digital banking platforms. This is a full-time position based in Kenya, reporting to ICT leadership and working across the cooperative to ensure reliable systems, secure operations, and efficient technical support. The role demands a hands-on professional who can balance day-to-day user support with strategic infrastructure management in a financial services environment.
The ICT Officer will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of the Sacco’s technology assets—from hardware installation and network administration through to cybersecurity, data protection, and digital banking platform performance. If you have 4+ years of ICT experience, ideally in banking or cooperative settings, and hold relevant professional certifications, this position offers scope to make a tangible impact on operational technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, network devices, printers, and peripheral equipment to ensure consistent system performance.
- Monitor server health, network performance, and ICT equipment availability; troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and functionality issues promptly.
- Respond to technical support requests from staff, diagnose hardware and software problems, and provide training on core ICT systems and applications.
- Administer user accounts, access permissions, and system privileges across networks; maintain the Core Banking System, email platforms, IP telephony, and databases.
- Manage LAN/WAN networks and internet connectivity; monitor network security, performance metrics, and traffic patterns to prevent bottlenecks.
- Establish and enforce ICT security policies, conduct regular data backups, test disaster recovery procedures, and protect systems against malware and cyber threats.
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of ICT equipment; track maintenance schedules, usage patterns, and asset replacement needs.
- Support digital banking platforms including mobile banking and internet banking; monitor system uptime and resolve customer-facing issues affecting service delivery.
- Document ICT committee meetings, system configurations, incident reports, and technical procedures; prepare periodic ICT performance reports for management.
- Coordinate with ICT vendors and third-party service providers to resolve technical issues, implement system upgrades, and integrate new platforms.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant ICT experience, preferably within a financial institution, bank, or SACCO environment.
- Professional certification such as MCSE, MSCD, DBA, or MCITP in information technology systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in networking, systems administration, and cybersecurity best practices; knowledge of software development principles is an advantage.
- Proven experience with Core Banking Systems and digital banking platforms (mobile banking, internet banking integrations).
- Working knowledge of Navision and Microsoft Business Central (BC 365) ERP systems.
- High-level competence in hardware and software support, troubleshooting, and asset management across complex ICT environments.
- Strong communication skills, integrity, and the ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
