About the Role
Yara International is recruiting a Finance Intern to join the Finance Department on a fixed-term contract in Kenya. You will report directly to the Finance Controller and take on hands-on work in payment processing, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting. This is a full-time internship position suited to recent graduates or final-year students with a background in accounting or finance who want practical exposure to corporate finance operations.
The Finance Intern at Yara International will work alongside the Finance Controller and wider team to maintain accurate records, process customer payments, and support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. You’ll gain real experience in accounts receivable management, bank operations, and systems-based accounting work.
Key Responsibilities
- Help remove obstacles in the customer order process to maintain smooth and timely processing of orders.
- Post customer payments and allocate funds to ensure correct recording and reconciliation of cash received.
- Carry out reconciliations for bank accounts, staff debtors, and supplier accounts to verify accuracy.
- Upload payment transactions into the SUN system and match them to the correct customer accounts.
- Collaborate with the Finance Controller to prepare accurate and on-time monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented approach to financial and numerical work.
