Key Responsibilities

  • Design and facilitate play learning activities that enable children to develop through hands-on engagement and exploration.
  • Develop and prepare teaching and learning materials appropriate for all learners in your class.
  • Create schemes of work, detailed lesson plans and daily activity programmes aligned with national standards.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of learner progress, maintaining accurate professional records and reports.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all learners throughout the school day and during learning activities.
  • Prepare progress reports and documentation required by the County Government education department.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C (Plain), or an approved equivalent qualification.
  • OR: KCSE grade D+ (Plus) or equivalent, plus a Certificate in Early Childhood Development and Education from KNEC or the Ministry of Education.
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education from KNEC or an approved equivalent.
  • Current registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
  • Certificate in Computer Applications.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in early childhood education or related field.
  • Meet all requirements outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, including good character and integrity standards.
