About the Role

Good Neighbors is recruiting experienced professional drivers for full-time positions based in Nairobi. The Drivers at Good Neighbors role involves operating vehicles across diverse terrain and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards. This is a permanent position suited to candidates with a solid track record in commercial driving and vehicle operation.

Drivers at Good Neighbors will be responsible for safe and timely transportation of goods and personnel, with accountability for vehicle maintenance and compliance with all road traffic legislation. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate both urban and rural environments effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate assigned vehicles safely and efficiently across Nairobi and surrounding areas, adhering to all traffic regulations and speed limits.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, including checking fuel, oil, brakes, tyres, and lights.
• Carry out basic vehicle maintenance tasks and minor repairs as required, and report mechanical issues promptly to management.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and documentation of journeys, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or road conditions encountered.
• Transport goods or personnel safely while ensuring cargo is secured properly and delivery schedules are met.
• Respond professionally to any mechanical breakdowns or emergencies during operational hours.
• Demonstrate exemplary conduct on the road, treating other road users with courtesy and setting a positive example of safe driving practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum age of 28 years with at least five years of professional driving experience.
• Valid driving licence covering all vehicle classes required by the role, including lorry operation, with no current endorsements or violations.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic violations in the past five years.
• Proven experience driving in both urban and rural terrain across Kenya.
• Competent knowledge of the Road Safety Code and all traffic rules and regulations applicable in Kenya.
• Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures, routine checks, and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English at a level sufficient for communication with management and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, punctuality, attention to detail, patience, and professional conduct in all interactions.
