About the Role

Farsight Africa Technologies is recruiting a Data Analytics Expert to join its team in Kenya on a full-time basis. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise systems and operational intelligence, supporting the delivery of data analytics, reporting, and risk analysis capabilities across large-scale ICT and tax administration projects. You will be responsible for designing analytics frameworks, building data models, and developing risk algorithms that support government revenue, taxation, and public sector modernization initiatives. The role demands strong technical capability, attention to data quality and governance, and the ability to work across technical and business teams to define requirements and deliver solutions that matter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy enterprise-grade data analytics frameworks and reporting solutions tailored to tax administration and ICT environments.
  • Build risk models, statistical algorithms, and analytical dashboards that support compliance monitoring, fraud detection, audit selection, and revenue forecasting.
  • Extract trends, anomalies, and operational insights from structured and unstructured datasets using regression analysis, predictive modeling, and statistical techniques.
  • Create data visualization and business intelligence dashboards for operational, executive, and compliance reporting purposes.
  • Validate data integrity across systems, perform quality assurance checks, and ensure consistency in analytical outputs and reporting feeds.
  • Integrate analytics tools and platforms with enterprise databases and systems to enable automated reporting and decision support capabilities.
  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to gather analytical requirements, document processes, and support adoption of new analytics tools and dashboards.
  • Maintain compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards, including audit trail documentation and data migration validation activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or predictive modeling within large-scale enterprise systems, ideally in government revenue, taxation, customs, financial services, or public sector settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, testing, and implementing statistical models, regression analysis frameworks, predictive analytics, and risk-scoring algorithms for compliance and decision-making use cases.
  • Hands-on proficiency with modern data analytics and visualization platforms, including those used in Integrated Tax Administration Systems (ITAS) or comparable enterprise analytics solutions.
  • Proven track record analyzing large, multisource datasets and producing actionable dashboards, reports, and automated analytical outputs for management and operational teams.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or internationally recognized certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related disciplines are advantageous.
  • Prior experience with data quality management, data governance frameworks, and analytics integration within enterprise systems is highly valued.
  • Background in tax administration, revenue authority modernization, e-government, or digital transformation projects is strongly desirable.
