About the Role
CDL Human Resource is recruiting a Data Analyst-Operations to join its team in Kenya on a full-time basis. This role sits at the intersection of data management and operational strategy, translating daily restaurant data into insights that inform management decisions at all levels. The Data Analyst-Operations at CDL Human Resource will work directly with operational and finance teams to shape how the business understands and responds to performance trends.
The restaurant sector depends on accurate, timely operational intelligence. In this position, you will serve as the analytical backbone for restaurant performance management—extracting datasets, identifying patterns, and delivering reports that drive real decisions about sales, costs, and site viability.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract, consolidate, and publish data reports on demand to support operational and strategic decision-making across the organisation
- Apply statistical modelling techniques to identify trends and patterns within restaurant datasets, then present findings and recommendations to business teams
- Conduct ongoing reviews of sales performance and deliver regular reports to leadership and department heads
- Analyse and report on key operational metrics on a scheduled basis, including inventory, labour, and service indicators
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual KPI summaries for individual restaurant locations, highlighting areas requiring team focus or intervention
- Collaborate with finance and senior management to develop performance forecasts and comparative reports across the restaurant portfolio
- Support financial feasibility assessments for new or expansion restaurant sites using operational data
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed strategic initiatives and operational changes
- Train and support restaurant teams on report generation and data interpretation techniques
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, finance, statistics, applied mathematics, business administration, economics, or related field
- Proven experience in report creation, statistical modelling, and trend forecasting
- Accounting or financial background (advantageous but not mandatory)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor data presentations for different audiences including senior management, departmental teams, and technical stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and demonstrated experience with point-of-sale and reporting software platforms
- Solid analytical foundation with hands-on experience in data mining, research methodology, and deriving actionable insights from raw datasets
- Strong attention to detail, capacity to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and ability to deliver under deadline pressure
- Proven ability to build relationships across departments and communicate complex technical information in accessible terms
