Objective

This role entails overseeing compliance management, recordkeeping, monitoring, and analytical tasks related to regulatory adherence, fraud prevention, Anti Money Laundering (AML), and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF). The Compliance Officer is responsible for addressing daily compliance concerns arising from financial transactions, trading, investments, or the management of client accounts and funds. It is crucial for this officer to ensure that both the business and its employees understand and adhere to internal and regulatory protocols.

The individual will be a part of the Risk and Compliance team, functioning within the shared services framework of CIC Insurance Group, focusing on compliance within the insurance-related business.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Develop an effective Compliance Management approach and processes to ensure compliance with all established regulations.
  2. Offer high-quality compliance guidance to Business and Support functions regarding internal policies, laws, and regulations.
  3. Provide advice on Anti-money laundering compliance, including client due diligence, KYC standards, internal policies, and local regulations.
  4. Conduct real-time surveillance and support to prevent misconduct, promote ethical standards, and monitor and advise on rules, all aimed at reducing business risk.
  5. Assist in reviewing marketing materials and client presentations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and obtain regulatory approval for the same.
  6. Conduct in-depth analysis of regulatory changes and provide support to the Business in implementing them.
  7. Perform compliance monitoring and conduct ad hoc investigations into matters or issues escalated to Compliance.
  8. Prepare preliminary operational policies to facilitate compliance with laws and regulations for management’s approval.
  9. Coordinate the submission of regulatory reports.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in law, Finance, or Business.

Professional Qualifications

  • CISA/CISI/CRM, CISM, Progress in CPA.

Experience

  • Up to 3 years of relevant experience.
